We embarked on a multi-destination van trip for a long weekend (both of us had Friday off). We set out Thursday afternoon, had dinner at Steamworks, and camped at our usual Purgatory spot off of Old Lime Creek Rd. Sadly, our friend Travis was not there this time.
On Friday morning, we poked around Purgatory ski area. It was very quiet and there wasn’t much snow. Fall colors were still showing.

We pressed on up toward Silverton, stopping for photo ops along the way. Snow had started to dust the mountains north of Durango/Purgatory.

We paused just after Silverton and Matt took a bike ride while Emily painted along the river.

Matt ride in Silverton:
We lunched in Ouray at the Ouray Brewery. There was a dog guarding the brewhouse.
After, we made a detour to Telluride to check out the vibes. Emily enjoyed the many art galleries. We finally made it to Moab by dark and camped just south of the town.
In the morning, we tried to sync up with the Outdoor Rec crew at the Big Bend Bouldering area. We had mild success getting off of the ground.

And Matt hit the Captain Ahab trail in Moab:
